Actors
Limiting to just my top ten, 'cause otherwise the list gets way too long...
(Others being left off include such worthies as:
Michael Biehn,
Nicholas Cage,
James Garner,
Mel Gibson,
Sir Alec Guinness,
Sir Anthony Hopkins,
Karl Malden,
Tim Robbins,
George C. Scott,
and
Denzel Washington)
- Kenneth Branagh
Quirky yet serious, he always exudes his joy of performing, and manages
to do so in such a genuine manner that you can't help but smile (as
opposed to those who are pretentious and preening).
- Sean Connery
Probably one of the best actors of all time, he has only gotten better
with age, and arguably has more acting ability in each bristle of his
beard than most top-tier actors and actresses have in their whole body.
From Hitchcock to Bond, and action or drama, he has charisma, presence,
and grace to spare.
- Tim Curry
Such a versatile actor, and a delight to watch. From The Rocky
Horror Picture Show to Legend to The Hunt for
Red October to Disney's The Three Musketeers his
charisma and dynamic style bring a depth and power to all
his roles.
- John Cusack
- Clint Eastwood
- Harrison Ford
- Morgan Freeman
- Michael Keaton
- Al Pacino
- Claude Rains
Actresses
Hmmm.
I really don't have many women who stand out as spectacular actresses in my
mind.
Plenty are decent, and lots are quite attractive, but only a few jump to mind
as having the presence and ability that I find with the men.
Now, I don't know if this perhaps says more about the scriptwriters, the kind
of movies and shows I watch, or the way actresses are taught, but there
definitely seems to be something missing too often...
